Zooming out to 50% creates crunchy aliasing

Photoshop CC: Mac OSX 10.9.2: When I zoom out to 50% all edges in my document get crunchy/show strange aliasing, regardless of resolution or layer contents (live text, raster image, vector smart object all display the same phenomenon). This is the only version of photoshop I have encountered this with. I used to see it on the imperfect zoom levels (66.7, 33.3) but never at 50%. I was wondering if this is known, if there is a fix, or if I should reinstall.

Check the image cache/pyramid levels in Preferences, it should be set to 4 or higher. If it was somehow set to 1, then you might see what you are reporting.

Also, install the 10.9.3 update to pick up a LOT of OS bug fixes.

Thank you so much! Fixed everything. I would have never thought to check that preference.
