I've been using photoshop on a lot of art projects lately and i was thinking of a feature that would make the project process a little easier. it would be super helpful to have a quick key that could make a bubble or something that shows a zoomed area where the mouse pointer is. This would be helpful when working with the pen tool because it is really difficult to grab those tiny anchors. So a button that gives you a zoom window as long as you are holding the button would be really helpful.

You fail to mention which OS you are working on.
On Macintosh System Preferences > System > Universal Access > Seeing > Zoom might offer something somewhat similar to what you are describing.
