Lightroom: Your computer does not appear to be connected to the internet

When I try to sign in to my Lightroom account in the upper left hand panel "Get started with Lightroom Mobile," a white box appears in the middle of Lightroom with four moving squares.  After a few minutes it says "Your computer does not appear to be connected to the internet."  I know it is indeed connected to the internet because I can do everything else on the internet.  I've tried rebooting the computer, relogging in to my Adobe CC account, updating to the latest version of Lightroom. Nothing works.  I still can't synch to Lightroom Mobile.

Lightroom version 2015.10.1
Mac OS 10.12.2
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014
AMD Radeon R9 M290X 2048 MB)

I had walked away from the computer for about an hour and when I came back, my account was synched with Lightroom Mobile again.  No idea what happened, but everything seems to be working right now.....

I guess I do still need help. Now my Lightroom says "waiting for connection" in the status area in the upper left hand corner near my LR sign in logo.  Yet, my internet is working fine, but I can't get LR to synch with LR Mobile.

Hi Karl,

1) Is there any proxy setting ?
You can check this under: Preferences -> Network

2) Try to quit and relaunch, if this does not work, try signing out and signing in back

Thanks,
Arjun

Good morning,

The boxes under Preferences>>Network are both blank.  But then, I don't remember ever having anything in those boxes.  I am working from home and don't remember ever needing a proxy for Lightroom.  I, frankly, don't even know what to put in these boxes for a home network.

I tried the procedure suggested here and it seemed to work after I rebooted:

Right now, I can synch with LR Mobile again.  Hopefully, it will keep working.  Thanks for your help and quick response so early on a Monday morning.

I am sorry to report that my Lightroom is once again not able to sync.  In the upper left hand panel (Identity plate??) it now says "Waiting for connection" above my name -- where it normally says "Adobe Lightroom 2015 CC.".  By clicking on my name in the Identity Panel, I can toggle the "Sync with Lightroom Mobile" command in the drop down menu between "paused" and "waiting for connection" but I can only get it to sync by forcing a GPS search of an image.  If Lightroom successfully finds a GPS location in the Map module, it seems to restore the Lightroom Sync capability.  But without triggering the GPS mapping, the "Sync with Lightroom Mobile" simply continues to toggle between "paused" and "waiting for connection."  I know I'm not explaining this well, and with the proper terminology for the functions I'm trying to do, but hope you can understand the issue well enough to provide a suggestion for a fix.

Hi Karl,

1) Are you using WiFi or a LAN cable for accessing internet from your system ?
2) In that case, if you just open map and search for a place does the "waiting for connection" disappear (without GPS mapping) ?

Thanks,
Arjun

Hi Arjun,

Sorry that I didn't reply sooner but I've been busy on other things. Right now, the Lightroom is syncing, so I was not able to try your suggestion above. I am working via WiFi and my computer is about 25 feet from the router and has a super strong signal.  Everything else seems to be working fine on my WiFi.

If I have troubles again, I'll try your suggestion and reply to the thread.

Hello.

I'm back again.  LR is stuck at waiting for connection again.  Loading the map module does not seem to work this time either. I'm still looking for suggestions about how to resume syncing.

Well, I tried rebooting the computer. I tried logging out of my CC account and logging back in.  I tried uninstalling Lightroom and reinstalling it (2015.10.1). i rebooted the computer again. But I am still getting the "Your computer does not appear to be connected to the internet" message.  I really would like another suggestion.  Should I roll back to an earlier version?  Is there someone I can call and talk to so I don't have to wait between messages?

Another related problem, I think: a few times I have been able to log into my account and start syncing. Then after my computer goes to sleep when I wake it up again, I seem to have been logged out of Lightroom Mobile and have to sign in again.

I thought I'd give an update. On Wednesday I updated my OS from 10.12.2 to 10.12.5. When I rebooted after the update, Lightroom connected to the internet and resumed syncing with LR Mobile. In my spare time over the past couple of days I've been reviewing, flagging, editing and deleting images on the desktop and all my actions appear to have been successfully synced with LR Mobile. So, after two days, everything seems to be working again.  Thanks to all who assisted me.
