You know what, I changed my mind... The new icons are great.

I actually understand why you changed them now. After using the icons for a week now, I came back to my old Mac wich didn’t have the updated apps and they look absolutely  archaic.
Just shows you how much one can hate change. Great job guys.

They still haven't fixed the underlying problem that when someone says or types "Lightroom" you don't know if they really mean Lightroom (as in Lightroom Cloudy) or Lightroom/Classic as that's the only one on their radar.  if Adobe is going to jerk us around (and require changing loads of documentation) they really need to fix the overall naming.

Unfortunately "cloud" and "classic" both start with "c" so whenever I see LRc I immediately think "Lightroom/Cloudy" or at least have to stop and ponder if the "c" is for Classic or Cloudy.

The real problem is the the cloud based one is just plain "Lightroom" with no qualifier and that is still causing massive confusion in the market.

They aren't 'icons' or symbols, they're words that need to be read and you need to hunt around for little opening arrows that lead you down another rabbit hole, ugh...

'Cloud' is not an official name. The official name is simply Lightroom, and that is what the icon shows. It is also known as Lightroom desktop, so LrD versus LrC could have been used as well.

All this fuss over names reminds me of a "management" course I did many years ago.  As we left the room, a colleague said, "Wipe your mouth Anderson", so I wiped my mouth and with a puzzled look asked why.  He replied, "Because the male bovine excretia is dribbling down your chin.  Before this course, I'd have used words everyone would understand, but now I can use words that will mystify everyone.  Except us."

Ok.  My comment just hints that someone at Adobe has been on too many "management" courses and isn't helpful.  Sorry.
