What would be a good workflow for using keywords in Lightroom CC?  I've used Lightroom 5 for a little while, and I see you can add a hierarchical list of keywords which you can select from when going through images.  But I can't find this feature in LR CC.  So how would you add keywords like location, person name (first and last name), atmosphere, etc.?

I can't find it either.  Keywords really useful and without people/faces become even more important

Lightroom CC doesn't support hierarchical keywords.  If your keywording needs to be hierarchical, you would need to use Lightroom Classic CC.

I apologize if I was unclear.  I know Lightroom CC doesn't support hierarchical keywords.  It doesn't even support a keyword list, as far as I've found.  I'm asking what workflow I can use with what LR CC *does* support to add information about location, person's name, atmosphere, etc.  Are there any recommendations, so that I don't have to redo the entire thing once Adobe gets around to adding a decent keywording system later on?

Manual Keywording in Lightroom CC is found in the lower RH corner. The icon looks like a tag.  Click it and you can add manual keywords to an image or a group of images.

Thank you, Rikk.  I apologize again, but I'm obviously not explaining myself well enough.

I know how to add keywords, and I know how to filter for keywords.  I'm asking about what would be a good _workflow_ for adding keywords.  I.e. what kind of "system".  In a hierarchical system, I'd group first names under last names, place names grouped under region names which in turn is grouped under country names.

However, this won't fly in Lightroom CC.  So if I just add "John", "Doe", "Winterfell", "Westeros", "Winter", "Snow" etc., it will all be jumbled in a pile when listing keywords in the Filter view.  A workaround can be adding prefixes, like "Westeros_Winterfell", "Doe_John".  But this will likely not be converted correctly if/when Adobe adds a better (perferably hierarchical) keyword system later on, and everything then has to be retagged.  Furthermore, It will be a little more cumbersome to e.g. filter out all the "Doe" family members.  Let's say "Doe_John" and his wife "Doe_Jane" has two kids "Doe_Jack" and "Doe_Jill".  And "Doe_John"'s brother "Doe_Jeff" and his wife "Doe_Jessica" has three kids "Doe_Joan", "Doe_Jessica" and "Doe_Bob" (ran out of J's).  You would have to know family relations for it to make sense.

This is just a stupid example, which I intentionally exaggerated out of proportions.  But I'm just asking if there has been put any thought into what would be a good keywording workflow when using Lightroom CC, given that Lightroom CC's keywording system is so basic and that it hopefully is updated later on (to something similar to in Lightroom CC Classic)?  Should I invest time now in tagging my image library, or should I wait until something better comes along?  In what way do you keyword images in LR CC, for instance?

Lightroom CC relies largely on Sensei to provide the keywording context. A rudimentary manual, single hierarchy, keywording system was added to fill in where AI couldn't identify the photos.

I do not expect the Lightroom CC ecosystem to gain a hierarchical system similar to what Lightroom Classic uses today. I expect the AI to gain in capabilities rendering a 'workflow'  less necessary.  Given the relatively new 1.x state Lightroom  CC and the general lack of use of keywords by its primary intended audience, I don't think that workflow best practices have evolved yet.

My advice? If robust keywording workflow is necessary in your world, you need to think about which Lightroom product will serve you better. Most users don't need the type of granularity you are requesting and I think if it ever comes, it will be a significant way off. But then, I could be wrong.  I am sorry I don't have a better answer for you.  Right now, I am keywording in proper names and letting Sensei handle the reset. Where is taken care of by GPS, What is taken care of by Sensei, When and How is taken care of by in-camera metadata. I just worry about Who for keywords.  Now who is related to whom???  That is a level of detail I don't even worry about in LIghtroom Classic CC.
