Wish list / ideas for future features and development

I know we are advised to add single comments , ideas , problem in single posts .
But I think it would be helpful to everyone and the developers to see them all in one .
As the single posts can be very fragmented.
I can and will split this in to separate requests in the future ,
Just thought it would be good to get others comments on my ideas at this stage before I post separate requests.

Everything I’m going to list has been thought about a lot , and either a missing feature I’ve encountered or one that i really need in my workflow or think a general user needs.
I hope I’m speaking for the majority of serious & pro users. To give us a standard decent set of tools, I don’t think I’m asking for anything over the top , even at this stage in its development.

So far its a great program I’m enjoying, with lots of potential for the future.

FEATURES NEEDED IN THE SHORT TERM in Mobile & CC

1. Lightroom CC - Curves

2. Lightroom CC & Mobile - More export Options. -size, compression level (to none) , Adobe RGB, & Tiff options - as I mentioned before there is no way to export an uncompressed adobe RGB image from either cc or mobile. Which means all exports will be not the really best quality.
2A. Must be able to save / export more than 15 images at a time.

3. Dedicated buttons for copy and paste adjustment settings - and across multiple selections , not just one at a time as we currently have.
3A - Import option to apply setting from last image to all new ones. Or one button to apply last copied setting to all new images.

4. Web gallery - more options for the downloadable size.eg S/M /L - currently it is Full size with compression , that ages to download. - faster download from adobe server - it’s currently 1mb/s or lower !

5. Selection process , should be able to be made from first click / touch selection at the thumbnail view page . It seems back to front to have to select Delete , move then select images.
Double click will then bring up full image for editing.

6. Tethered Shooting support on Desktop CC (for most popular Canon & Nikon cameras ) is a must
- and IPad would be REVOLUTIONARY ! , this is HUGE and would make it the industry leader.

Maybe WiFi live import could be an option here as well - kinda like a wireless 1/2 tethered option .

WORKFLOW & ORGANISATION FEATURES NEEDED

1. Renaming images. - this is REALLY needed to help track and organise images.
Ideally by batch selection , eg add a prefix name or change name and renumber in sequence.
And at import stage, this is how I normally do it on other programs - each shoot I use Clients name and or date followed by original camera seq number, or a fresh number seq 0001 etc.

2. When selecting download images to computer on CC , I really wish it would keep the Organization and Folder names as I Have named them in app and see them CC & mobile galleries overview .

3. This is similar to above. - the ability to download / backup on a Folder basis - as I mage all my shoots by creating Folder for each one , then albums within that folder. - Say one for Import , one for selects , Finals etc.
- This is Really needed for a Pro workflow , can’t emphasis this enough , And to manage cloud storage.
- Eg , Then I can safely backup to my archive drives , when job is finished and clear valuable cloud storage .
The caveat though is these folders MUST be able to be reimported with all the adjustment settings at a later date if needed to give the client more images or grade options.

4. The search function should include file name , if a client gives me the selected image name / number - I want to be able to type that in from the search bar and take me straight to that image.

5. Filename should be able to be viewed when in grid view and single image , again when I’m selecting several from a clients selection I want to see this as easily as possible .
-Maybe the drop down menu could have a show filename button that can be toggled

Thanks !
Steve

Good stuff but it falls on deaf ears if you don't put them in separate posts. That is how the system works. There is no way to track or vote on one idea in a list of many. They need to be separate or all your good ideas will go unnoticed.

Steve, feature requests exist and are tracked. As separate posts your voice can be added to existing voices who've requested before you. A separate posts new ideas become anchors for ground swells of needs. As a bundle, they are pretty much wasted effort.

Adobe tracks individual features by counts of users voting for.  Posting them like this thwarts tracking in a meaningful way.  As Rick has indicated, they need to be separate.

Thanks for feedback. Yes I was aware it doesn’t help feature requests being implemented .

Firstly I don’t want to go spamming with 10 new requests !

And As much as it is a list , it was meant as a conversation and hoping for comments from other users..

then I can get a feel for what others are thinking overall as well. And can potentially help me tweak my requests and ideas to be maybe more general or useful to others not just my own wish list . And that would help everyone if we are all looking for roughly the same features. - but we may all raise separate and slightly different requests , that complicates things in my eyes

Where I read a something like this, it’s for me it’s easier to understand how people are using it and what they wouldn’t like or need in future features.

I’m also interested in people’s workflow and workarounds , so something more than a one line feature request is really helpful to myself. - and others I would imagine.

Maybe from the backend it’s easier to database an log the comments and votes , but from ‘our’ side it’s fragmented and can be confusing.

Is there any way we can see the most voted requests ?
And how are similar requests dealt with , say even if one only has a few votes but actually is a really good way to do something or feature that people may think is significant at the moment?

Feel fine to delete it or move it , I won’t be offended :)

Cheers
Steve

That's cool. We're just trying to help you get your voice heard.

---"Is there any way we can see the most voted requests ? "---

There is a way to see what feature has the most votes. (See Victoria's answer below)

---"...how are similar requests dealt with..."---

Similar requests are merged and vote totals are added to the whole.

Don't worry, I'm not going to delete your post. Like you said it is still good conversation. Maybe when you have time you can pick you favorite topic and post it as an idea. You might want to do a search first and see if anyone else thinks it's a good idea too.

Take it easy,

Rick

Actually, there is, they just hid it!  Go to the main category page for the app, then under the main search field, change it to Ideas. Then you can change the sort to number of Me Too's. https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/categories/photoshop_family_lightroom_mobile?topic-l...
