I want to know if I let my system upgrade to Windows 10, will my PSE 12 that I just bought awhile back work. I WILL NOT pay more money to upgrade to a product I am using just fine. I have no issues with my 12. Should it commence upgrade on its own, I want to know if Adobe has a fix or will be refunding money

Well my Photoshop elements 12 is not working and the only pictures upload to my PSE12 after I installed Windows 10 are from 2013, so what happened to all my other years of pictures? ALL my pictures did up load to Photo shop express (a windows 10 photo program, I guess) But I can not copy them, or send them to FB or print them. Anyone else having this problem, and does anyone know is Windows 10 working on the issue.

I have the same problem. I have PSE12 and since installing Windows 10, PSE12 just locks up once it's launched. I've tried to re-install, but that didn't have any impact.

I have had PSE 12 for many years and it worked on win 10 until recently in 2018.
Will PSE work on Win 10 as I have tried many times to get it to work?

I have successfully upgraded to Win 10 with PSE 13, 12 and 6.
It seems that the problems are not specific to a given Elements version.
Have a look at the discussion about PSE13 to see if that can help you:

I installed Windows 10, and attempted to import pics to Elements 12, and it does not work. I am getting an error that I need "DirectPlay". Is Photoshop going to provide a fix??

I know I'm late to the party, but I found this on another website. It fixed my problem!
From Xircal on March 14, 2014:

Thank you for your answer but I got back to Adobe and they have sorted it out. As a matter of interest they advised me to go to:-

TURN WINDOWS FEATURES ON OR OFF

Right-click on Start button, select Programs and Features

Click on LEGACY  COMPONENTS

Check that DIRECTPLAYER is ticked.

I found that these boxes were unticked so I ticked them and now my PSE Organizer can be  accessed

Thank You

Hello all !

Thus, you explain that PSE 12 is launched without problems, but the import of pics is going wrong.
Right?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

I have the very old PSE 2 that runs OK in Windows 10. I do get an error message as it loads but if I 'OK' it then goes on to complete and start and work OK. I got the same error with Win 7.

Nevertheless I have been thinking about getting a newer version and I've seen PSE10 upgrade version very reasonably priced, but don't want to get that if
a) my PSE2 won't be suitable as the upgrade from version, or,
b) it won't work in Windows 10

My Photoshop Elements 12 was working fine in Windows 10 until one of the recent updates. Now the software partially opens but I cannot edit images. I get an error message that there is not enough ram. ??? It worked just fine before. Is there a patch?

PSE 12 was working until the Win10 update yesterday (My guess). All the options are displayed as a narrow column and unreadable. Can not use it at all. I had been using it every day before. Reinstalled it his PM, same problem. Any suggestions? Any fixes from Adobe? I tried PSE 9 as well, with identical problems. Please help.

PSE10 (2011) was woking fine until Win10 update "creators update sept 2017"  . Then stopped working as Edgar's (and many others') did.
I found a note on a forum which said it works on fresh installls of Win10, but not on PCs that have been upgraded from Win7
(Unfortunately I tried to turn back the upgrade which completely screwed my computer, so I had to reinstall win 10 on a newly formatted drive.)
However. All cleanly reinstalled, win 10 and PSE10 , (with the directplay box ticked as per Joy Stein's comment) and EVERYTHING works.
(I just suggest you do it in a more controlled and painless way than I did!)
