Photoshop: Panel SDK: Why does a TextBox/HTML widget in extension panel need double-click?

I am writing a panel with a html widget in it to input some information of image file and upload it to my server. But the textbox could not get focus unless you double-click on it. This drives our simple-minded staff crazy. Any one have workaround for this? Or can I have alternative ways to acheive my goal?

Thanks,

James

Sounds like you're making a panel for CS5 using the Panel SDK. Is the behavior you're seeing on both platforms (Mac and Win) or a specific platform?

I'm making a HTML panel for CS5 using Configuration 2.0 under Windows vista. I did not try on Mac. Below is an example, you have to double-click the textbox on Google to input your search.

I talked with someone on the Configurator team. Looks like it's a known limitation at this point. They have some code that tries to prevent a panel from capturing focus away from Photoshop's ability to process keyboard shortcuts.

You may be able to get around this limitation by creating a panel in Flash Builder using the Photoshop Panel SDK.
