why is there no Windows 8 RT or a full ipad version of Photoshop? I know those are smaller, less powerful computers, but earlier versions of photoshop ran just fine on much slower machines. Tablets seem to be the future, but for me and many other people photoshop is the only thing preventing us from dropping our PCs and just using a tablet for everything.

iPad and tablets don't have anywhere near the processing power, memory, or GPU power to run a full version of Photoshop.

We do have applications designed for tablets, and to work within the constraints of today's tablets: Photoshop Touch, Adobe Ideas, Revel, etc.

System requirements for earlier versions like CS1 or 2 at the time could not have been any higher than what something like Windows Surface RT has today. Go back far enough and you'll find a version of any Adobe product that would run on a tablet if a version was developed for it. the tool set of photoshop touch is just far too stripped down for someone who is used to using proper photoshop at work during the day and then wants something to play with at home at night. The price is great of course, but the features too limited

Tablets sometimes have the RAM, but really don't have the processing power, nor the input accuracy, and the GPUs are pretty weak so they can't make up for the lack of processing power.

Really, we are keeping up with all this stuff, including unannounced products that you won't see for a while. We know what the capabilities and limitations are, and are planning ahead. But right now, iPads and similar tablets simply are not up to the task.

Hello,
I don't know if this is the right place to post my idea, but I'm trying anyway.

I love to digital paint with Photoshop and actually I'm using a simple Wacom Bamboo tablet. My dream is to work with a Cintiq, but for now, it's too much expensive to me. I've seen the last pens from Wacom you can use with smartphones and tablet, and I think would be a great idea to develop the tablet version of Photoshop. I don't mean like the simple Photoshop Touch, but a complete Photoshop app with (almost) all the tools to paint and draw that computer version has. Plus you could use the Bamboo Stylus, so It would be like to work with the Cintiq, but more cheap! Ok, I'm not into app developing so I have no idea on what it takes and if this could be possible, especially cos I know that PS is a very complex program and it could be very havy, installed on a tablet... But I really wish my idea could become true, someday!

Thanks,
Giulia
