Why is the printed size of my PSD image not the same size as the original PSD image on my screen?

Hi,

Lately every time I print from Photoshop CS5.5, the printed size of the image I'm printing is much smaller than the original PSD size, (in inches). In other words, the PSD image can be 11x14", yet when I print it, my printer prints the image much smaller, as small as 3x5". Rescaling the image in the Print Window doesn't make a difference. I do not have this problem printing from any other app so I think it's a Photoshop problem and not a printer problem.

I'm on a Mac Pro working in OSX 10.9. This began before I upgraded to OSX 10.9

Thank you,
Tony

The screen size and printed size aren't related.

What matters is the physical size and resolution you have set for the image (check the Image Size dialog), plus the options you choose when printing.

But we have seen some printer drivers that get very confused about the image size and page size. Updated versions of the printer drivers usually fix the problem.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your reply, I guess I need to be clearer. If I have an image that measures 11 x 14", when I print it I expect an 11 x 14" printed image as well, but my printer or Photoshop, reduces the printed image to a smaller size, sometimes as small as 3 x 5".

Where do I find updated drivers, Adobe or Epson, the printer manufacturer?

Thanks, Tony

Again, that is a function of the settings you set in the printer driver, and the printer driver itself.

You get updated drivers from the printer manufacturer's website.
And Epson has released several updated drivers to make them work correctly in MacOS 10.9.
