My pasteboard is turning different colors, now that I started using proof colors.
When proof colors is checked in the menu the pasteboard is fine, but when it's unchecked I get lots of different colors on the pasteboard when i open a image

This looks very much like a driver issue: Determine what video card you have and go directly to the manufacturers website (nVidia or ATI/AMD) and download the latest driver. GPU and OpenGL support | Photoshop CS4, CS5: http://adobe.ly/OpenGL

Thanks for your reply Jeffrey.

I went to the troubleshooting link that you provided. There is no updates for video card.

I've narrowed it down a little.
When I go to preferences >performance >advance settings and uncheck [use for image display,] it seems like the problem goes away.

This is a new iMac computer that is still under warranty.
Is this an issue for Apple to solve?

I don't know if leaving this box unchecked [use for image display] will bother me or not.

That should be fine to disable that.
