I just got a new camera and Photoshop and/or Lightroom does not recognize the raw files, has no camera-specific profiles or has some features not enabled. What do I do?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Pixel 3 wide front camera dng not supported.

As titled, front and back dng files work fine, but the secondary wider/selfie camera is not supported. Shooting at 2.97mm (normal wide front) is fine, but any zoom (2.33mm, 2.26mm etc) which then switches to the secondary lens or in between won't work - 'Lightroom has encountered problems reading this file', and on import: 'Non-raw files were not converted to DNG
Not all of the files being imported were raw camera files. Only raw camera files were converted to dng.'

Will these be supported in a future update?

Could you share a link to such a sample DNG for the team to investigate?

Hi folks, we're actively working on direct support -- in the meantime, we have the DNG Converter 11.2.1 Beta which will read the EOS RP files and convert them to DNG.  You can then open the DNG files in ACR and Lightroom.  Please see here:

Currently Fuiji XT3 is not supported in Lightroom cc classic.  Adobe does have a work around, but it is cumbersome and takes time.  when will Adobe support Fuiji XT3 with their raw files?

Fuji X-T3 was supported with LR Classic CC V8.0 and continues to be supported in LR Classic CC V8.2.

So I have no idea why you posted this

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Requesting RAW/DNG support for Huawei P30 Pro.

Hi there,

The Huawei P30 Pro is out in a few days. This phone supports RAW/DNG on all 3 cameras (0.6x wide-angle, standard, and 5x telephoto).

Can I please request Lightroom Classic CC (and Mobile) to support these files?

I was very impressed with the Lightroom support for my previous smartphone, Samsung S8, and I'm hoping for the same for the P30 Pro.

I understand the standard camera on the P30 Pro uses a non-standard RYYB sensor.

Thanks in advance,
Aidan

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Sony a7iii not reading files.

I got this camera and my software didn't work to view raw. I only bought LR last year. I got in touch with support and asked if there are updates. He said my only option was a 7 day trial and that is now finished. I got in touch this morning and my only option is to start a subscription. The service here is shocking! Basically told tough, you have to subscribe if you want to use it with those files. I have been a customer through work and then my own business for around 20 years to have it end like this as if my custom means nothing. Disgusting Adobe, your customer service needs to be evaluated.

You do have a second option-
Convert your raw files to the DNG raw format with the (disgustingly free) Adobe DNG Converter. Then they can be imported to the catalog.
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/adobe-dng-converter.html
With very new cameras you may have to wait several weeks until Adobe updates the Camera Raw version in the DNG converter to read the ever changing proprietary raw versions from the camera manufacturers.

I am for the first time pre-ordering a camera, the Sony RX100vii.  My question, is the Sony raw format for this camera the same as the previous Sony RX cameras and therefore the dng already exists in Lr or is there a wait for Adobe to create a dng for the new camera?  Thank you.  Tom

For some reason, PS does not recognize RX100M vii raw files even though it did recognize RX100M v raw files.

There is a 'Note' for the RX100 VII that needs Lr-Classic v8.4 at-

https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

"Note:

Preliminary support means that the image quality and raw format support for the given camera model is not yet finalized and may be updated in a future release."

I downloaded a sample .arw for the RX100 VII from dpreview.com, and my LR 8.3.1 wasn't able to import it. That's usually the case for new camera models, and you'll have to wait until a new release of LR comes out supporting the VII.

New Sony models are supported in the release of LR following the official announcement of the camera about 2/3 of the time:
https://forums.adobe.com/message/10780859#10780859

LR releases about once every two months, and the latest release (8.3.1) came out on 5/29/2019, so we'd expect to see the next release just about now. The RX100 VII was announced on 7/25, so there may not be enough time to include it in this imminent release, in which case you'll likely have to wait for another two months.

In the interim, you could use Sony's Imaging Edge app to convert the raws to TIFF.

(I don't have any inside information from Adobe.)

The Canon G5 Mk II was announced a month ago on 7/9/2019. New Canon models are supported in the release of LR following the official announcement of the model about 78% of the time:

https://forums.adobe.com/message/10780859#10780859

So based on Adobe's past behavior, there's an excellent chance that the camera will be supported in the next release of LR.

LR releases about once every two months, and the latest release (8.3.1) came out on 5/29/2019, so we'd expect to see the next release any day now.

In the interim, you can use Canon's Digital Photo Professional software to convert raws to TIFFs.

Lightroom (Mac version 5.7.1, Camera raw 8.7.1) does not recognize raw format pictures of a Olympus E-M10 MarkII, albeit stated otherwise. In the Metadate the camera appears as "Olympus E-M10MarkII". Only, if the name is changed to "Olympus E-M10" the .ORF raw file is recognized by Lightroom. "Olympus E-M10 MarkII" does not work, either.

I expect updates to support SIGMA's raw format (x3f / x3i). In order to bring out the performance of SIGMA's foveon image sensor in Lightroom, I think it is SIGMA's raw format rather than dnp format.
