I have a new Nikon D5500. I shoot raw. I have elements 13, it seems to only accept the raw plug in 8.7.1.311, but Adobe says I need plug in 8.8 for that camera. Does this mean I cannot use my Elements 13 that I bought only a few months ago?

Use the DNG Converter 8.8 on the Adobe Updates page to create DNGs from your NEFs, then those DNGs can be used in Adobe products that don't contain the Camera Raw 8.8 engine, yet, such as PSE13's Camera Raw plug-in.

Got my new M3 delivered on Monday. Have to use DPP4 to get to my images. Hope Adobe gets an update to Camera Raw that recognizes what is apparently the new RAW format in this camera. Been very happy with the body so far, will be great when it fits back in my workflow. Thanks!

Hello Joeri,

I cannot give you a specific date, but we are working on making this profile available in a future release of Lightroom.

How about LR lens profiles for the Rokinon/Samyung lenses? The profiles for Tokina lenses are similar and I'm using them in lieu of having Rokinon profiles. But having a profile for Rokinon would be very beneficial.

Thanks

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Raw format pics from Canon PowerShot G7X are not accepted in Lightroom 5 - why?.

I have newly bought a Canon PowerShot G7X. I have just update my Lightroom 5. My problem is that Lightroom doesn't accept the raw format from this camera. I also have a Canon EOS 7D without any problems with the raw format pictures. I usually take both raw and jpeg at the same time. For the 7D camera only the raw version of the pics is shown automaticly . For the G7X camera only the jpeg format pics or no pics at all is shown. What is wrong?

The G7X was first supported in LR 5.7 from November.

What version of LR have you just updated to? Use Help / About Adobe Photoshop Lightroom x.x.x to find out.

The latest is LR 5.7.1 from December.

Try Help / Updates w/in LR to see if that helps?

If not, and you have the serial-number-licensed LR 5 then you can get the latest update from the Adobe Updates page: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates

If you have the CC version of PS and LR then use the Install or Update button next to LR in the CC Desktop Manager app to install the latest version.

Thanks for your help guys. I really freaked when cc2015 seemed to drop the support for my fuji S1. It wasn't that at all, I missed the part that Camera Raw isn't always updated along with cc2015. Did the new 9.1 download and good to go.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Please, please, please release an update so that LR5 will support the new Nikon D....

I'm desperately needing to use my new camera and be able to edit the files in LR5- where I do basically all my editing! I have my old camera to use in the meantime, but it's sad to see the new camera just sitting in the bag. I'm going to have to use it this weekend to shoot 20 youth soccer teams, as my partner & I both shoot a team at the same time. I'm not looking forward to editing those pictures in the Nikon editing program... blah!

Wait for the next Adobe release of your product(s).

Until then, one approach would be to use the Nikon products to do WB adjustments then produce a TIF (important prints) or JPG (unimportant prints) and open those TIF/JPG images in your Adobe product.

Another approach is to shoot RAW+JPG in the camera and just work with the camera JPGs until Adobe can work with the raw files.

I have a new Nikon D5500 and I used Nikon capture to download the raw images.
I am able to open the files in Camera Raw 8.8 but then I don't know how to import them into my Lightroom 5.7 catalogue.
Is that even possible?
I can't believe this is happening.

If you can't wait a few hours/days, then you can use the DNG Converter 8.8 to create DNGs from the NEFs and those DNGs will import into LR 5.7. I believe what happened is LR 6 is due anytime now, and Adobe releasing LR 5.8 would have pushed back the LR 6 date, so they chose to skip it.

The DNG Converter 8.8 is available from the Adobe Updates page:

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled How can I edit Sony A5100 RAW files in Photoshop Elements 12 (mac)?.

I get the following error message when trying to open the .ARW files produced by my SonyA5100 in Photoshop Elements 12 on a Mac.

I've tried finding a solution online but there doesn't seem to be one - the camera RAW updates listed for Elements seemed to stop 3 years ago (http://www.adobe.com/support/download...) and even the DNG conversion doesn't seem to support the camera.

Any suggestions?

I have no problem editing the .ARW files from this camera in Lightroom 5.7 and have never had a problem with any of my Nikon .NEF files for different cameras.

Error message:
'Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.
Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information.'

For info a friend told me yesterday eve that I could right-click the image in Lightroom and edit in external editor, which created a TIFF file for working on in Elements 12.

I have now spotted my camera is listed as something like ILCE-5100 and not A5100 in the DNG list. The link at the start of this topic for the DNG download leads to a page where I couldn't spot the actual download link, just adverts for lots of other Adobe software. Thanks for the comprehensive information though.

I have Elements 10 and a Canon Powershot SX50HS camera. I have no problem importing jpeg files but if I try to open a RAW file (has extension CR2) I get an error message ' incorrect file format'. Can anybody explain this and how I overcome the problem. There is no problem with Canon's own software.

Hi
I'm thinking of either purchasing Photoshop or Lightroom but need to know which to buy. Will they both recognise my Canon 700D EOS and process the RAW files from it? Also, if it doesn't, will there be updates quite soon so that it will?

I am unable to load CR2 files into Photoshop Elements v 12 from my Canon EOS T6s.
I did an Update (Help-Update). My Camera Raw Plug-In is v 8.5.0.236.
Where and how do I get and load the required version of the Camera Raw Plug-In?

Thanks,

The T6s was first supported in ACR 9.0 and only PSE13 or newer can be updated to that. Basically your PSE12 was obsoleted by PSE13 before the T6s came out so only PSE13 gets the update.

You can upgrade your software or use the free DNG Converter 9.0 (or newer) to create DNGs from your CR2 files and those DNGs will be readable in your older software.

The DNG Converter is available, here:
http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

If you’re ready to go beyond PSE then you might also consider the Lightroom + Photoshop CC Photography Plan for $10/month. You will find more raw-processing options in either LR or PS than the ACR hosted by PSE has.
http://creative.adobe.com/plans

I currently use Lightroom as my main photo cataloging and adjustment tool, then sometimes use Photoshop for extra things, which doesn't occur too often.

I thought this would be the answer. I have been considering The LR/ Photoshop CC Plan and will probably subscribe to it.

Many thanks for your helpful reply.

.ORF files produced by my Olympus OM-D are not recognized by the latest version of Lightroom. What is the plan for support this?

Also, I have been shooting Olympus raw and jpeg and when I do an import, it would pick up the jpeg files. Is that a bug or do I have a to change a setting to at least pick up the jpegs?

Thanks.
