That camera had support added in Camera Raw 9.1.1. Make sure your camera raw is up to date: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/...

I am new to Mac,  having been a PC user in the past.  I invested in creative cloud, but am unable to access my images using either lightroom or PS ....   am I missing something?  PS tells me that it doesn't recognize the NEF files produced by my D7100 ...  lightroom  simply doesn't respond.

my question was merged into this thread,  but responses fall into two categories  a)  version of LR or PS  need updating and I am using CC, for both,  so that doesn't apply.   Convert files because my raw files cannot be read:  until recently I used a PC, and PS6 ...  I had no issues with the NEF files that Nikon uses.   I need more specific help than this.  ps:   PSCC was downloaded today!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Photoshop CC 2015 will not open raw (.orf) files from Olympus PEN-F camera..

I realize this camera is not listed in "supported cameras" but a freeware program (Faststone Image Viewer, in a version several years old) will open these files. Why is PS CC (for which I am paying) not matching a older piece of freeware? Will support for .orf files from the PEN-F be added?

Hi Richard,

The Faststone Image View may be able to display the embedded JPEG preview of PEN-F RAW files, but I would be surprised if it is able to edit the RAW file directly.

We are working on RAW file support for the PEN-F for Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom. It will be available in an upcoming release.

Please stay tuned and thank you for your patience.

Regards,

- Chris

Faststone is able to edit the raw file. It is not just showing the jpeg preview.

Hi Richard,

I'm fairly certain it is only displaying and allowing you to edit the embedded JPEG preview.

For example, when I view a JPEG + RAW pair from a PEN-F that had the picture style set to Monotone, both the JPEG and the RAW (.ORF) image show up as Monotone. If Faststone was reading the full RAW data, the .ORF file would likely appear in color since picture styles are only written out to the full JPEG files and the embedded JPEG previews in RAW files.

Also, the dimensions/resolution of the JPEG in my example is 5184x3888 (20.16MP), whereas the paired .ORF image is 3200x2400 (7.68MP).

In any case, we will have a release available fairly soon that will provide editing capability PEN-F RAW files. Again, thanks for your patience.

Regards,

- Chris

I edited an orf file in Faststone and then converted the file to a tiff file using Olympus software. The edit showed up in the tiff file viewed in PS CC 2015 and the resolution was way above what I would expect from an embedded jpeg. As and added item of interest, ONONE Photo10 will open and edit the PEN-F orf files.

I am unable to download pictures from my Nikon D800/D810 into Camera Raw when the SD cards are plugged into card slot of my Mac. The cards are not recognized and are both formatted in both cameras. The strange thing is that cards are automatically read by other photography software installed. The only thing I can do is copy and paste. I haven't got any problem with Olympus and Samsung.

Looks like you're using an older version of PS (Cs5). Use the free DNG converter for camera support in older versions of Photoshop.

I have the a recent version of Lightroom 5.7.1 and have used the DNG converter etc etc and Lightroom still is only uploading 40% of my files. I have the latest version of firmware for the D5500 and all the updates for everything Adobe. Please-please just add the D5500 to the Lightroom update. I have spent $1000's on Adobe products and don't really want to shell out another $150 for Adobe 6 just to have one of my camera to function with LR and have to go through the upgrade process again......Come on guys.

I have an older version, LR3.6 and shooting with a couple different cameras. The one I shot with that I am trying to edit files is Canon Rebel xTi. My research tells me that I have the latest updates on LR, and that it should support my files and my camera. Why is it telling me otherwise?

Hi. I'm a keen amateur not a pro but I always have a camera with me. I just replaced my old Canon G15 with the new G5X as my everyday pocket compact (ish). I bought the camera because ion your site it states that it is a supported camera. I always shoot RAW and get  as much pleasure editing as I do capturing. Please can you tell me if you are updating Camera RAW any time soon so I can go back to using my PS6. I havent got the money to keep upgrading all the time and when I do its a treat but this has been a bit of a downer. please advise. Thank you. Daz.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Panasonic GX85/GX80 Raw (.rw2) Support.

I understand the Panasonic Lumix GX85 or GX80 is extremely new (I think only a few have been really released, one which I got a hold of through Best Buy), but I'm wondering when Lightroom and Camera Raw (and DNG Convertor) will support it's Raw (.rw2) format.

Thanks.

Thanks, when you say its coming, does that mean like 3 days, 30 days or 90 days?  As you can see, working pros rely on LR and the delay in support is frustrating for everyone.  I'm not sure why Canon and Adobe don't exchange raw exif data prior to release?!  The announcement and release dates were not surprises.

Today a new version of LR, Bridge and ACR came out.
I can't find the official page at Adobe where all changes are described.
But i guess, the 5D4 will be supported now.

New Camera Support in Lightroom CC (2015.7) / 6.7
  • Canon EOS 5D Mark IV*
*Please note that we support the import and editing of jpegs, raw files and dual pixel raw files from this camera model.  We do not support any specific dual pixel raw functionality.
Will dual pixel functionality be supported in a future update of ACR?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled where is Camera Raw 9.3 update for Photoshop CS6.

Camera Raw installer plug-in 9.3 for Adobe Photoshop CS6 cannot found: Adobe pages say install 9.1 installer which does not work for Sony RX1 RII professional camera. Adobe webpage "Cameras supported by Camera Raw" notes that the 9.3 installer is the minimum necessary.

After speaking with Adobe, they admit you must "upgrade to the cloud" for the 9.3 plug-in wor work with the new cameras. Thus money first, loyal professionals who spent years supporting Adobe, second. Sad day.

Hi Steve,

Here's a blog post with information on the decision: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2015/07/update-to-camera-support-policy-in-cs6.html

You can still use the DNG Converter to access newer camera model support, while using Photoshop CS6.

One thing to check is that your OS is supported in the later versions of the DNG Converter. I believe the most recent now works with OSX 10.10 and higher, but the 9.3 version (here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5994) supports Mac OS X 10.7-10.11. The Windows version of 9.3 is here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5995

regards,
steve
