I just downloaded Photoshop CS5 (64 bit) two days ago and it opens just fine but when I open a picture it says right after that Photoshop stopped working. Then when I try making a new document, right after I click okay it says Photoshop has stopped working. This is what it shows

Do you have any 3rd party plug-ins installed? Font Management software?

It could also be a problem with a video card driver, or a printer driver.

Good point. I would try and go directly to the nVidia or AMD/ATI website to download the latest and greatest video card driver for your system.

When the app says it's stopped working do you have to close the program, or does it come back to life after a while?

I close the program. I have waited to see if it would come back to life but it doesn't.

Ashley what video card do you have in that machine? Have you ever updated the video driver?

If you do not want to do that try disabling OGL. Bring up Preferences and click on the performance tab. Uncheck "Enable OpenGL Drawing"

Does that fix the problem?
