Lightroom: Why does a Virtual Copy go to the beginning of image folder?

I just can't remember Lr doing this but now (V3.6) each time I create a virtual copy the virtual copy goes to the beginning of the folder display (either along the bottom, or in grid view)

I thought the Virtual copy used to sit NEXT to the original? Or have I missed some important setting that controls this?!

Thanks in advance

This also happens when I have processed an image in Silver Efex Pro and bring it back into Lr; it goes to the front of the folder display also (and I'm sure it didn't use to!)

Check the sort order you are using in the Library. If it is set to Edit Time, that could cause the newer copies to appear at the beginning of the folder.

Thanks Becky, how do I find the "Edit time" option to change it?

Either use the menu bar item View>Sort>

Or use the Sort: field in the Toolbar, as per this:

In Library in the Toolbar.
If you don't see the toolbar Hit T on the keyboard.
If you don't see the option hit the little grey triangle at the end of the toolbar, and check Sorting.

Otherwise Library/View/Sort/Capture Time
