Photoshop Elements/Lightroom: Why can't you make Lightroom and Elements compitable?

I am very frustrated with Adobe. I bought Lightroom 3, but it's editing feature is amateur, and insufficient. I like Adobe Photoshop elements, but it won't work with Lightroom 3, where my 30,000 photos are organized. Photoshop cs5 is too complex a program for me, and requires too much time to learn. when are you people going to wake up and make lightroom3 compatible with photoshop elements?
