PHOTOSHOP - Why won't my new file open with a white background?

In the middle of using PS today for a class assignment, my background turned black and I can't get it to turn white. I have tried a lot of different things, but the canvas just stays black but when I create a new canvas it reads that the background should be white.

Hmm, the dialog says it should open white - so the new document would open with the background white.

But it looks like you changed the background to black, and have the grid enabled (which draws the lines).

Did you enable a script for events like Document Open ?

Hi Nancy,

Are you still encountering this problem?  What version of Photoshop are you running?  On which Operating System?

We're here to help if you still need it.

Thanks,
David
