Why won't my apple or windows computer make a Copyright sign? (ALT 0169 doesn't work?)

Trying to set up a copyright watermark. Watched several video's o u-tube, none of the keys (ie: shape) are available? the alt 0169 doesn't work. this is so frustrating

On MacOS, it would be option-g ©
Or you can use the character viewer or keyboard viewer to find it.

On Windows, alt-0169 (entered on the numeric keypad) should work.
Or you could use the OS character map to find it.

In Photoshop, you could use the glyphs palette to select hard-to-key characters.

Hi Stephanie,

Chris is correct on all three counts.  What happens when you try this?

Also, if you look in the Glyph Panel, you'll see that there's a category we called Designer Favorites, which includes many of these commonly-used symbols, such as &, $, ©, etc.  Check it out!
