Bridge 2019: Why is the Output Module not a standard feature?

After each upgrade from Bridge CC to an elementary new version, I need to set up the Output Module again. Why is this great feature not an integral part of the program functionality?

I agree with you that it should be a standard feature... but I didn't "lose" it with the most recent upgrade from 2018 to 2019.  Maybe that's because I didn't opt to uninstall 2018?  And I did opt to migrate my settings into 2019 during the install of the newer version.  Anyway, I was quite pleased to see 2019 had the module and all of my presets from the previous version

Hi,

Bridge CC 2019 has native Output workspace, which helps in generation of contact sheet, and it is available with default installation.

Thanks,
Deepak Gupta

Dear Bob
Fortunately I also never lost my presets. But I do have to copy the workspace-file into the library-extensions-folder after every main upgrade. I work on Windows 10 - what's your OS?
Kind regards, Michael

Dear Deepak
the reason I wrote this post is that I recently upgraded to Bridge CC 2019 and I still had to follow the instructions as provided on https://helpx.adobe.com/ch_de/bridge/kb/install-output-module-bridge-cc.html. Too bad it did not work out for me.
Kind regards, Michael

Hi Michael,

The previous versions of Bridge had script based Output module. But the recent versions (CC 2018 and CC 2019) have native output module. hence you do not need to install the script based output module. And the previous version of output module used the Flash based technology, which is not available in Bridge now. Hence old output module will not load in recent Bridge versions.

What is your use case?

Thanks,
Deepak Gupta

You can't install the old Output module in Bridge 2018 or 2019, it won't work. Use the built-in Output workspace.

Michael,

I'm on MacOS 10.13.  I've seen what you describe with previous upgrades.  That's why I was pleasantly surprised not to see it this time.  Good luck sorting it out.

Hello everybody
Thank you for your comments. I have now uninstalled Adobe Bridge, deleted everything about the output module in the Common Files folder; there were even three obsolete old versions. Rebooted the PC, reinstalled Adobe Bridge CC via Creative Cloud App and now everything seems to work.
In this sense, I apologize for the unnecessary post here - on the other hand, the task was real and I did not provoke it myself. Thanks again for all the help!
Best regards, Michael
