I have a mac desk top with the 10.10 yosimite os. I have downloaded my photo shop elements 10 to it. When I edit a photo and save it doesn't update IPHOTO. If fact the pic disappears.

What can I do. I edit a lot of pics

For that, you would have to ask the iPhoto folks.
Photoshop writes your changes to a file - if iPhoto doesn't see that change to the file, then something is wrong in iPhoto.

How are you launching the file to edit in Photoshop? Are you doing it from iPhoto? Or from the finder? Or by the File>Open... dialog in Photoshop?

I'm really not sure why they would send you to Photoshop support -- what you are describing is an issue in iPhoto failing to correctly recognize edits to files made outside of iPhoto. That has nothing to do with what made the edits, just iPhoto.

It's just a damned shame that between Apple and Adobe nobody can help us after we've spent all this money on your crap

Apple doesn't admit to a bug. Chris if you know what's wrong why don't you try to get it fixed??

Adobe can't really help you with a bug in an Apple product.
You are having a problem with an Apple product, and only Apple can fix a bug in an Apple product.

I suggest:

1. Save the edited photo elsewhere.
2. Delete the original from iPhoto.
3. Drag the edited photo into iPhoto.

A pain, but it works.

I am not a Mac user, but I think you should read:

If you are using Elements as the external editor of iPhoto, how do you save your edits: with 'Save' or 'Save as' ?

By the way, it seems that Apple is replacing iPhoto with a new software?
