Photoshop: Why do my images in Photoshop turn over saturated and damaged?

On and off now my Photoshop seems to have the same problem. If I have a lowered opacity image in the background, or if the background image is quite bright, Photoshop will sometimes change it out of no where.

The background turns over saturated, almost pixilated, and when you 'zoom' in and out with the Magnify tool, you see the blobs of colour move and change shape around the screen.

I've changed my preferences in 'performance' from 'advanced' to 'basic' to see if it was my gfx card, but no luck

Any ideas??

Can you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing?

^ Example - This was a pale brown paint splatter in the background, now a yellow-ish, oversaturated mess :/

So to confirm, the rendering of the image only changes when you zoom in and out?

The rendering still looks messed up regardless, however, zooming in and out makes the saturation parts fizzle and change shape

It may be a bad video card or a bad color profile. Is your video card driver up to date?

Determine what video card you have and go *directly to the manufacturers website (nVidia or ATI/AMD)* and download the latest driver: http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/201...

After you have the latest driver, Try restoring your preferences: http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/201...
