Why do png images exported or saved in Photoshop CC 2015 look so bad and have black backgrounds?

I'm having issues both exporting and saving images in png format with transparent backgrounds, particularly in Photoshop CC 2015. The transparent backgrounds were coming in black. To correct the problem I had import the images into Lightroom then export them again. Very inefficient. Why is this suddenly happening?

No idea. Photoshop saves PNG transparency according to the PNG specification and that hasn't changed in many years. And we test compatibility with other programs regularly and haven't seen any such problems.

What program are you having problems viewing the images in?
When you save the images, are you saving transparency?

I save them with transparency. I had issues viewing them in a online converter a few days ago. So, I tried using a png I created before the most recent update (12/15) and the image worked fine. In this particular instance, I was able to get the image to work after I imported it into - then exported from Lightroom.

Sounds like your online converter might have a problem with PNG transparency.
