Every now and then when zooming with scroll wheel, large rectangular white spaces appear on my image. I have to shut down cc 2015 and restart. Major problem!

Sounds like a video-driver issue. Try adjusting the Advanced Graphics settings in PS / Prefs / Performance

Also, make sure you have the CC 2015.0.1 update installed.

Interestingly, I never had this problem until I upgraded to CC 2015.0.1

Howdy David,

This sounds very much like the same issue found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/black-or-white-squares-on-image.html.  Can you let us know whether or not this solves your problem?

Thanks,
David

Same problem here: started the day I installed PS CC 2015 last week!!! Extremely frustrating. I did not have the issue with the 2014 version, only after the upgrade, which makes it very hard to believe it's a problem with my display driver.
It does go away if I disable the processing on graphic card, but the all point is to use the power of my graphic card!

LR CC 2015 and other graphic software work just fine.

Model Identifier: MacPro6,1
Processor Name: 6-Core Intel Xeon E5
Processor Speed: 3.5 GHz
Graphic Card: AMD Radeon HD - FirePro D500

Many other users had the problem as soon as they installed MacOS 10.10, even in Photoshop CC 2014.
Yes, you can install CC 2014 from the Creative Cloud application, but it hits the same OS driver bugs in MacOS 10.10.

Apple is aware of the many driver bugs in MacOS 10.10, and says that they are working on a solution.

I've been on OS 10.10 for 9 months, I have edited hundreds of pictures everyday in Photoshop CC 2014, and I've never seen the black/white square issue... I guess I must have been lucky ;-) Could you please provide any kind of reference to the bug on Apple side so I can contact them? Any link? Anything that I could use? I'm a Software Architect by trade, and I find it very hard to believe that Apple would have been sitting on a SEV 1 bug for 9 months, which would prevent some enterprise software to function properly.

No, we can't give out details of bug reports filed with Apple. But they have multiple bug reports in RADAR about the video card drivers in MacOS 10.10.

Chris, did you see the other thread talking about the same issue that was opened 10 months ago? It stays that's a bug with some NVIDIA card. I have an AMD Radeon FirePro D500. Did you see the comment from the other user? He started to have the problem ONLY after upgrading to PS 2015 -- like us in this thread, and he's on Mavericks and not Yosemite! "I have just updated to Photoshop CC 2015 and I'm getting black and white squares. I'm not using Yosemite, I'm using Mavericks and I have no plug-ins apart from Camera RAW. Anyone discovered how to fix this yet ?". Any comment on that?

There are similar problems on many GPUs, due to bugs in the video card drivers. They don't all appear identical, however. Some of those were due to an odd bug in Photoshop CC 2015, which was fixed in 2015.0.1.

Today I went out and bought a totally new video card: I upgraded from Nvidia GTX 450 to GTX 750.

Now I have a variant of the squares problem. No white rectangles but squares similar to another respondent on this thread.

This is costing me money now!

Never had this problem until upgrading to CC 2015.

Turning off the use of my Graphic Card Processor as suggested works, but makes PS way too slow. I did not invest 4K in a macpro to have it run like a $500 PC, LOL.

The best workaround I found is to re-start PS when the problem starts. If lucky I can get 30 minutes out of it before having to restart again.

Yeah, that sounds like one of the known MacOS driver bugs that you're hitting.
Apple is aware of the many video driver bugs in MacOS, and says they are working to solve them.
