Lightroom: White bar appears in Develop module (macOS)

After I first launch Lightroom CC on my Mac , when I select an image and switch to the Develop module, a large white bar appears at the top of the work area, then disappears. This only happens for the first image I select after launching Lightroom; and this has happened for the last 3 versions of Lightroom CC, both with El Capitan and Sierra OSes, on two different Macs. Turning off the graphic processor option in Prefs makes no difference.

It may help if we could see your Lightroom System Info. Launch Lightroom, and select Help > System Info... and copy/paste the text in a reply.

This sounds similar to what I also experience, except I'm on a PC and the wide bar at the top is black, not white.  It usually contains the image Information (the metadata that displays when I cycle through the "i" shortcut) that is normally superimposed over the image.  My impression has been that it is just the software GUI loading slowly when I launch (for what reason, I do not know).
