Hi Flip,

This is one of the differences between the Windows and Mac versions of the product. The best alternative available on the Mac side I could find was the VideoMerge effect.

From this link you can see which keying effects are Windows only.
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premieree...

There is also this doc that has a detailed listing of differences.
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/858/cpsid_85...

I don't know the exact reasoning for the differences but I would assume its because it was the first release of the product for the Mac.

Hope that helps,

-Dave

Dave that answer is not an answer--it is an excuse. An answer would have been for you or someone else to tell us when a patch will be released to fix this problem.

The response was a bit harsh toward Dave, I think, who is just doing his job. But I'm not happy with Adobe with these arbitrary omissions that, in my case, seriously degraded the value of their product. But what's worse, I had no idea until after I bought it that there would be such a deficit. Is this arrogance born of monopoly?

Is there any plan to bring green screen functionality to PrE Mac? I purchased Premiere Elements to be functional upgrade to iMovie for some hobby movie projects. But then I realized green screen and many other effects that are available on Windows are missing from Mac version. I was hoping to use green screen in particular. I know it's my fault because I should have checked what features are available on Mac but I simply assumed that Windows and Mac versions are functionally equal.
I cannot believe there's technical limitation on the OS level that prevents Adobe from implementing green screen.
