Photoshop: Where is my upgrade?

When I purchased Adobe Premier Suite 5, as an upgrade from Photoshop and Illustrator 4.0, I was told that purchase included the 5.5 upgrade.

Order Date: April 14 2011
Order Number: 0116751605

As I don’t spend my days checking the Adobe website for updates, and as no email notification was sent, I did not look for the 5.5 update until Oct. 4, 2011.

I am now being told I cannot have the update because I didn’t ask for it by July 25.

I have been a loyal Adobe customer for decades, spending thousands of dollars over the years with my current employer and previous employers and have never had any issues with upgrades.

In talking with Rahul October 4, 2011, I was told I should have scoured the site for disclaimers about special offers. That, of course, is absurd. I was told the sales person who sold me CS 5 three weeks before 5.5 was released, had no obligation to tell me my ability to upgrade was limited. That, of course, is absurd. Now you want me to spend more money with Adobe to purchase something I already bought? That, of course, is absurd.

After talking to Rahul, I checked the Adobe website and there is no mention of upgrade deadlines in the FAQ. There was link specific to CS 5.5, but it was broken.

All I want is what I paid for: CS 5.5. Please send my the license key.
