Your photos should still be where you loaded them from initially as long as you did not delete them. If you had photos on your hard drive, they should still be there. If you had photos in photoshop.com, they will either be there or migrated to Revel depending whether you opted out, migrated manually, or will be migrated automatically. Did you look in your "pictures" folder in your computer?

I have a pictures file but I only had specific ones that were in elements 9 and then I had rated them by stars. In my pictures folder would there be a folder with the elements catalog?

Hello Laura,
Were you able to restore your catalog yet? Did you have to reformat your hard drive due to a crash or did the application crash as you might of lost your catalogs?
My default catalog back up was to the desk top. I did find the following help pages
Troubleshooting catalog issues

Backup or restore catalogs

Let me know if you still need assistance
Thanks

My computer while doing an deep cleaning by a tech at our dsl company after it was done the computer would not reboot. So we took out the hard drive put in a new one and put everything back. We also added windows 8. My Print Master program found all its files and pictures. Everything else works fine. I have Elements 9 and have been upgrading since Elements 2.

I read everything you gave me. But they must be stored under some name for elements. I still need help
Thank you
Laura

Laura,
You would need to manually load the images from the back up that you made for your files into Photoshop Elements. Create a new catalog for your images.
Thanks
