Where is my old Lightroom?? I had the Creative Cloud Suite that worked fine with my extensive catalogs, installed a new Solid state drive for c:, reinstalled cc, now it's all gone, all photos,  and the "new" Lightroom is garbage

It sounds like you installed Lightroom Desktop instead of Lightroom Classic.  Go to Help>System Info... and look at your installed version number. If it is 3.2 you likely installed the incorrect version for your needs. Go back to the Creative Cloud installer and install Lightroom Classic (Current Version is 9.2). I hope this helps!

Hi Rikk,

I decided to stick with LR 2015.4 Camera Raw 10.1.

I tried the new desktop version, but many of the new features challenged my ability to quickly process images with certainty.  I found I could not control the process and that was very frustrating.  In the end I was able to uninstall the new version and reinstall 2015.4 and have been happy.

Sometimes an old shoe is better than a new one you can't lace up.  Never have two versions of LR on the computer.  The catalogs are not the same.

I wish I could be more positive about my LR experiences.

Phil

There were quite a few performance improvements between CC2015.4 (6.4) and Classic 9.2. Essentially it is the same interface and workflow - unlike the Lightroom Desktop product which is completely different.

Thanks Rikk, that did it! Silly me. I was installing Lightroom on my desktop, so I chose "desktop". Who knew? It should be labeled more clearly like - 1.- Classic Lightroom for professionals that you are currently using that gives you the ability to do almost anything.  or 2.- Lightroom Desktop for your Insta or Facebook selfies for a guick tweak. Really though, the options should be labeled more clearly - you have my permission to use my highly accurate description above.
