The trial can be downloaded here. All trials are branded Lightroom CC. If you purchase a perpetual license version, you can license the trial to convert it to Lightroom 6.

Great. But I don't want a trial of the CC edition.
I don't want to buy the CC edition. Ever.

I want a standalone trial installer just like you used to offer... so I can install it on my no-internet-available photo editing station.

It's all the same build Gary. When you enter a serial number, the branding on it magically changes to LR6 instead of CC.

I have used Lightroom 3, 4, 5 and now 6 and agree with Gary that I don't like the idea of the subscription based Creative Cloud and don't need its functionality. I am now helping my brother convert from the ill fated iPhoto to Lightroom and find - like Gary - that the trial version is only available via CC, but with Victoria's assurance that he can buy a standalone license later, I have no problem starting him off on CC.

It automatically sends me to a page that starts aam

My browser has a hissy fit becasue it has absolutely no idea what an aam URL is.  It seems impossible to get Lightroom
The address wasn't understood

Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (aam) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

You might need to install other software to open this address.

Same in every other browser
