Lightroom Classic: Where are my legacy profiles?

I recently updated my computer, and after installing Lightroom (Classic, v9) and copying all my existing color profiles over, my "legacy profiles" are nowhere to be found. Those included the black & white versions of the "camera matching" profiles, but also black & white versions of profiles for my infrared camera, and other specialty profiles where "Adobe Monochrome" is not a good fit at all.

I can't find the legacy b&w profile versions anywhere on my old computer either (I still have it) so where are these profiles, please? I need them.

Alex.

In the Profile Browser panel, click the + button and go to Manage Profiles and make sure they're all checked, as the Legacy ones will be unchecked by default.

That was it. Thank you, Victoria!

Has this always been the default though? I don't recall ever having to make the legacy profiles visible first on my old machine. When the profile system was changed, they were simply there... if I remember correctly. :P

Also, since they're not on disk, does LR/ACR create these profiles "on the fly?"

You remembered correctly, they were visible by default for 7.3/7.4. 7.5 (August 2018) is when the legacy ones got hidden by default.

And yes, the B&W versions of color profiles are indeed created as needed, they don't actually exist on disc.

Thanks for the confirmation, Victoria. Glad to hear I'm not losing my mind. ;-)
