When painting with Bristle brush and using texture from the brush palette Photoshop cs5 is slow. Texture settings are mode height and depth is set at 14% (as far as I can tell PS is up to date, the video card is up to date, no viruses, I have no third party plugins, and windows 7 set for performance not aesthetic pleasing interface(its been defrag, and disk cleanup is done, programs not needed on start up are turned off) my system runs both of the corel painters 11 and 12 fine Autodesk sketchbook pro 2011, plus artrage fine ( no problems with these programs, yet PS is slow with the bristle brushes using texture))

I have tried all the settings in open GL

video card is ATI Radeon HD 5570

computer is an hp i5 8GB Ram

any suggestions

Does Photoshop show version 12.0.4 or 12.1? (those are the latest versions)

What diameter brush are you using?

Are you running 32 bit or 64 bit application?

Have you tried disabling OpenGL drawing in Photoshop (then relaunching) and seeing if that helps?

How many cores in your system?

Have you disabled any of the Adobe plugins (like the extension plugins)?

To disable a plugin: change the name of the plugin, or the folder containing the plugins, to start with ~ (tilde character).

That seems to have worked, but the color picker hud issue still continues, use eye dropper tool before the short cut keys will work

Why are the adobe products becoming so temperamental, I have been working as a Graphic Designer since PS 5.5, but lately adobe products are becoming more harder to install ect, illustrator cs 4 at work was really temperamental to install when we purchased it a year ago. (Several days of talking to support ect). The Adobe products were great, just install and go. Stable as a mountain against a hurricane. Just lately it seems they are temperamental, and need tweaking?
