I used to be able to view viles in coverflow when opening a file from photoshop. coverflow dispalys the file faster and with greter detail. I was able to do this before upgrading to PS CC 2015.

Photoshop has nothing to do with the OS previews in the Finder or the OS open/save dialogs. Those are provided by the OS. But MacOS does have some longstanding bugs that prevent it from creating/showing thumbnails for files in some odd situations.

Just love this answer, sounds like Adobe is trying to distant temselves from a MAC issue. Maybe Adobe and MAC could get together to resolve this issue. After all, most people who use Adope products use them on a Mac.

You are having an issue with your OS, that doesn't involve any Adobe code. There's not much Adobe can do about that.

What is the file format of the files your trying to preview? PSB thumbnails aren't supported by OS X. If PSD, are you saving with Maximum Compatibility? Max compatibility is required for compatibility with the Finder.

OK, that's even more odd. Your previous description sounded like you weren't seeing the previews/icons in coverflow mode, not that coverflow wasn't even being offered as an option in the OS UI.

Do you have any utilities installed which attempt to alter the OS open dialog UI?

I do not have any utilities installed, other than those which come with the OS. I do not run any utilities, while running other programs.

AFAICT - Coverflow isn't accessible from Open dialogs for any app on El Capitan.

I see that! Do you know if this is an issue that Mac knows about?
