Lightroom: When should I delete my older LR Catalog.lrcat after I update/upgrade?

After upgrading to Lightroom Classic I still have the older Lightroom 6 Catalog.lrcat.  THe upgrade created a new compressed catalog with a -2.  I'm not going back to previous.. is it now ok to delete the original lrcat.  it is taking up 4,128,048kb space.

If you are sure you won't go back, then you can safely delete it.

I would use it as my last backup from LR CC(LR CC) if i had to reinstall those apps.

Jens is right, 4GB is cheap, buy more storage and keep it just in case.
