Lack on camera type information when importing video’s. Can this be fixed?

Hi,
Is it possible to share the screenshot of metadata panel for photo and videos? Also can you share the sample video file and send it to mayugupt@adobe.com?

Thanks
Mayuri

This looks like Lightroom for Mobile (iPad) but your post is tagged as Lightroom Classic (Desktop software).  Is the problem on the mobile app?

Got the same issue on classic:

Only a handful of cameras are detected.
Amongst the not detected:
  • Pentax K3
  • Parrot Anafi
  • DxO One
  • GoPro Hero 7 Black
  • ...
Cheers

Does Adobe ever intend to fix the problem with missing Metadata for video files?  In addition to the camera make and model being missing on video file import, why does the create time have to be converted to UTC?  When the create time and camera info are preserved on RAW picture files, why can't movie files also be handled similarly?

Create time for video files is not handled uniformly across different camera types.  It is always converted to UTC on all my Nikon DSLRs and Nikon mirrorless cameras.  I am not sure about movies taken on different iPhone models.  Create time may be preserrved on some but converted to UTC on others.

This long outstanding bug makes Lightroom very inconvenient to use when one has a mix of stills and videos.  I hope Adobe sees fit to resolve this problem once and for all.

If the Camera make can't be preserved on import, can I at least have the provision to enter it manually?
Fortunately, I am able to change the Capture time manually.
