When I select a photo in LR CC to 'Edit in' PS CC Photoshop opens up but no photo appears. What can I do?

I just recently signed up for the Adobe Photography package with LR CC and PS CC. When I want to send my photo to PS CC the Photoshop opens up with a blank screen. I can drag a photo into the program but obviously this isn't how it's supposed to work.
