When cropping in Photoshop, display the active preset

When cropping images, I'd love to see the active crop preset or recipe displayed in a corner. I use different crop recipes or presets throughout my day. I often accidentally crop using the wrong recipe and don't see my mistake until later. A quick flash of the active crop preset as I click and drag with the crop tool or when the crop tool is activated would be awesome.

So if you're using crop presets, and they are visible in the options bar, and you tap down through the list you see a preview of the active preset. As I switch through these I can see the crop box changing. Is that what you're referring to?

You can also set "Fixed Size" on the rectangular Marquee so the box will give you a floating preview anywhere you click to see the selection frame, then just choose Image > Crop. I've done this for my photography where I want to run through open images and custom crop all the 4x6" size pieces. I set a custom quick key for Image > Crop, so I can just be clicking to move the frame, then press the key to apply the crop. It's the same number of actions as using the crop tool itself.

I know I can look at that crop presets window in the top left corner and know what I’m set at. The problem comes when I’m working fast to crop photos that are bigger than my crop preset (1200x1200@300 for example), then I come to one photo that is smaller than the preset (a 750x750 image for example). If I don’t remember to switch to my smaller DPI crop preset (something I know I can do with a right mouse click), the crop process forces my photos to “res up” making them blurry. I may not realize it until too late. If Photoshop flashed the active crop preset as you activate the tool or start dragging, it would be a quick reminder to users that they are okay or that they are on the wrong preset. The attached pic shows where I think it would make sense to show. It would only have to blink on for a second or two then blink off.
