When adding my external hard drive to Lightroom in an attempt to organise, Lightroom has reset metadata of videos and photos to 1 January 1970 1:00.
This will be the third time Lightroom has done this and I'd like to know why and how to solve this rather massive issue! I've tried recovery software to fix the directories in the hard drive that Lightroom seems to have disrupted/destroyed but have had no luck...
This has happened with three different hard drives on three different computers and I can't find anything in the 4TB of data that I need now.
I love Lightroom but I feel very disappointed and let down that I've encountered this problem for the third time and cannot find any information about this.
Please advise.
Cheers

I connected my external hard drive to my computer and attempted to import the hard drive into lightroom choosing the add function instead of copy. My thought process being that I'd be able to organise and edit my photos and videos while keeping my computer free for memory space. Each time I've done it though it seems to have really meesed up my hard drives and I'm missing files as well :(

Robbie Lee,

Can you go to Help>System Info... and get us your installed Lightroom version number?
