Carousel: What We Really Want Adobe Carousel to Become...

Friends at Adobe and elsewhere,

Adobe Carousel is amazing. It is quick, seamless and powerful. It is so exciting to see how you are advancing the possibility of having my photo library everywhere and accessible on all my shiny Apple devices.

This product has allowed me to dream a bit on what I believe many users, (myself especially) would gladly pay for. Here goes.

First off, the Carousel cloud sync infrastructure is amazing, but there is no way to incorporate it into the system that I have already established in Lightroom. "System" meaning: organization. I already have my photos organized exactly the way I want them in Lightroom. I want Carousel to look at my existing organizational structure and sync it and all the photos with it.

I don't want two products, I want Lightroom to be Carousel, or Carousel to be Lightroom. I don't want just photos organized by date (Carousel), but I want to see all my collections and collection sets, exactly as they are in Lightroom, synced to the cloud.

I want Carousel to work like Dropbox:

1) I have a local version of my photo system I work on in Lightroom / Carousel
2) Every change I make is automatically sync'd to the cloud
3) I can see and access the same photo system in the same structure everywhere, and on every device, and change it from wherever I am (which not even Dropbox does now, but Carousel does beautifully!)

Beyond that, I want to be able to use other apps on my photos, not just Carousel.

On the Mac, I use the Nik and onOne Plugins and save them back in to my Lightroom organizational structure. On the iPhone, I use Instagram, Snapseed, Color Splash, Photoshop Mobile. I want the choice to edit natively in Carousel or in another app, and be able to save it back into Carousel.

In short, if you are able to provide

1) A single photo organization database
2) Lightroom integration
3) Third-Party software integration
4) Editability on all my devices

You have absolutely, positively won a lifelong subscriber. Probably thousands, actually.

Thanks for caring and listening and being an amazing company.
