What specs does my future computer need to run LR5.5 or 6?

Lightroom4 or 5 - Recently upgraded to a 16mp Nikon, I shoot raw; have a HP mobile workstation with Quadro graphics for CAD/CAM creation, Intel Core2 Duo 3.06GHz, 8gb ram (slow ddr2-800), slow 5400 spin speed hard drive. The computer is only 3 years old, and I'm not a "power" user. Watching task manager while flagging and rating photos with nothing else running, my cpu runs at 100% usage, briefly dropping to 50-60% now and again. Ram usage started at 2.2 and maxed out at 4.4 (out of 8). Are you planning to tweak hardware usage to employ that unused ram? gpu (I suspect it's unused)? should I turn hardware acceleration on or off? How is the hardware used and how can I optimize it for best usage (particularly for an informed, likely future build with eight-core processor and ddr3-1866 ram)?

Most any new computer will run it fine.

If it doesn't, it's usually not because of any spec.

All attempts to define a spec which guarantees optimal performance have so far failed, as far as I know.

Good luck,
