What are my alternatives to the clone tool on 32 bit images?

I am working with hdr files and i need to replace a small object in the image. The main problem is that the 32 bit depth, which is essential to the image, only allows a fraction of the tools, including the clone/replace tools.

What can i do now to replace that object without loosing bit depth?

Hi there, I'm just guessing here because this sounds interesting. The only thing I was thinking, at the moment, is create or use a second image that is 32 bit. Maybe by having a like image in the second image would be a start. It wouldn't be that simple because I'm guessing you have a background and foreground. If the second image is too much, maybe another layer, or two.

I've been having my issues and I end up here frequently and sometimes have no idea of what the heck is going on. And to be honest I haven't used 32 bit too often.

Good Luck, I'll be looking. .   .     .

What version of photoshop are you using?

In photoshop cc the Clone Stamp Tool works on 32 bits/channel documents as does Edit>Fill>Content Aware and Edit>Content Aware Fill. It is true that lots of other tools do not like the Healing Brush, Patch Tool and Content Aware Move Tool.
