In Lightroom, when setting White Balance, the eyedropper cursor inexplicably selects an area which it is neither pointing towards nor touching.

Why doesn’t it select something in the same manner as would an actual eyedropper -- at the very bottom tip -- as it does in Photoshop?

I can't seem to repro. What OS/version are you running on? Are you running multiple monitors?

Mine uses the tip of the dropper as the source of the pixel grid as you would expect.  In your screen shot, you are correct that it is mis-aligned.  is this JUST the WB eyedropper or are other mouse pointer selections also mis-aligned?   In LR, for example, if you try to grab the border between one of the side panels and the central section, does the cursor change to a double headed arrow at the right place?

Same here. I do not see any misalignment. Lightroom Classic 8.2 and MacOS 10.14.3 Mojave.

I see the same eyedropper misalignment with LR8.2 on Win10 with a 3200x1800 screen and the Lightroom font size set to 'Larger - 200%'.

It does align correctly for the Medium and Large Lightroom font sizes.

So need you need to trade text readability to get the dropper aligned.

This unresolved bug has been present for many years:
