My LR keeps telling me that my HD is full so after a lot of Goggling I did what a lot of people recommended and bought an EHD,and formatted it for my Mac. What I wanted to do is  move my entire LR library to my EHD and free up all the room on my computer.Trouble is now that after trying a lot of suggestions from this forum I can't get the new EHD to show in the folders panel. All the other EHD's that have ever been connected (although not connected now) are showing up but not the new one. I'm going crazy as I have already stuffed up previously by changing and organising my Pictures folder and not doing it through LR. Can someone please help. Thanks in advance.

This is one of the scenarios where it is better/safer to go against conventional wisdom and do the move outside LR. Specifically, COPY your entire LR library from your internal HD to the EHD, making sure you maintain the same structure. Once that copy has completed, open LR and in the Folders Panel right-click on the top level folder under the internal HD and select "Update Folder Location". In the resulting browser window, navigate to and select the same folder on the EHD. That will reconnect that folder and all its sub-folders to the EHD. Repeat for any other top-level folders until you have re-linked all the folders on the HD to the EHD.

Once you are happy that all is working as expected, and the HD no longer appears in the Folders Panel, you can delete the library from the HD.

OK, good luck. One thing I forgot to add would be to ensure you take a catalog backup before you start. Just in case you make a mistake and connect a top-level folder to a different folder on the EHD....I'm sure you won't, but better safe than sorry.
