Lightroom CC: VPN affects connectivity

Even though my connection is working just fine, I've noticed that Lightroom and any Creative Cloud services reports back that I am offline when that simply is not the case. Has something to do while being connected via a VPN.

Do you have more details on the VPN software or hardware that you use? We use VPN at Adobe and the connections work fine. Also, does it still fail if you re-launch LrCC after connecting via VPN?

Feel free to DM me in regards to the VPN and its version. 

I am unable to replicate the issue, but here are some steps I tried:

  1. Start & stop VPN.
  2. Quit and re-launch Creative Cloud
  3. Quit and re-launched Lightroom CC (not Classic)
Running OS X 10.12 Sierra with latest updates; upgrading to High Sierra soon.

The reason for reporting this on the boards is that I noticed one of my photos that I edited on the desktop had not synced on the mobile application.

Looks to be working now on both platforms after I performed the previous steps.

Do you get any errors? We've had a few folks using VPN report errors on launch.

Inside Lightroom classic, I'll see "offline/paused" where you can check the sync status in the upper left hand corner.

In addition to the VPN, I like to stop any Adobe services as it kills my battery running in the background all of the time; the Adobe services run in the background even if the Creative Cloud launcher is closed and no other Adobe applications are being ran.

I'll quit the Adobe services if I'm not doing any photo editing and I am working on other tasks. With that being said, that can also be the issue.

I've written to Adobe in the past about how to keep these services from being launched or from running in the background, but was told that Adobe has to have these running services despite me only needing these services running if I am working inside any Adobe applications. Otherwise, I would prefer that no Adobe services are running in the background so I can conserve battery. 

Perhaps, a happy medium can be met with Adobe complying with Apple's Doze feature.
