Video flicker in Photoshop CS6 (Win8 issue, need newer drivers)

With Photoshop CS6, whenever I select areas of a photo or attempt to utilize an interactive filter (blur, lighting effects, etc.) my monitor will continually flicker on and off. I've experimented with all the video preferences, but nothing works. Plenty of RAM and using an approved (AMD Radeon HD 7770) video card. Any suggestions??? Very frustrated...

Are you using Windows 8? That sounds a lot like one of the known bugs in Windows 8, which can be worked around by updating your video card driver from the GPU maker's website, or setting the Photoshop GPU mode to Basic.

Thank you, Chris!!

Yes, Windows 8 (should've mentioned that). First tried setting GPU mode to Basic, and that worked (after shutting down and restarting Photoshop). Then, even though Device Manager said I had the latest and greatest, a quick trip to the AMD site showed a new driver. Installed that and it works beautifully, even using Advanced mode in Photoshop. Did I say Thank You?!

The device manager only checks Microsoft, and their drivers are frequently a year or more being the manufacturer.

You're welcome!
