I purchased Lightroom (standalone) verion 6.0.1 on May 2 2015. The program crashes whenever I select a video. The video is from the Canon 5D MKII camera. It worked fine in previous versions of Lightroom. My operating system is Windows 7.

I can select and play videos from a Canon 5DMKII camera with no issues.

Do you have GPU enabled? (Preferences>Performance)

Do you have Adobe video products (Premiere Pro, After Effects or Photoshop) installed on the system. Are they running when the crash happened in Lr?

No I do not have Premiere Pro or After affects installed. In previous versions of lightroom I was able to play my video and even trim it in the LIBRARY module. That doesn't work. As soon as I select the video, the program crashes. I have reinstalled lightroom, but it doesn't help (6.0.1).

GPU was enabled. I just disabled it. From the screen prompts it looked like it wasn't providing any benefit. Rebooted. No Change. It still crashes when I play a video in the Library mode.

Is your video driver up-to-date? Determine what video card you have and go *directly to the manufacturers website (nVidia or ATI/AMD)* and download the latest driver.

Just doing Windows Update won't give you the latest and greatest drivers. You must go directly to your card manufacturers website to check for driver updates.
