Lightroom: Video capture date/time consistently broken between Classic and Cloud

The briefest version of the problem is that Lightroom (Classic and Cloud) loses the capture date at nearly every turn for videos.  The different editions of Lightroom also bring new and desirable functionality...but I REALLY want reliable consistency between those editions...if there truly needs to be multiple editions.

Converting from LR6 to Cloud, I lost the capture date/time of over 1,000 videos (defaulting to the import date...to Lightroom CC Classic):
I wanted my originals in the cloud, so I went through the pain and agony of importing my very nicely functional Lightroom 6.X instance, through Lightroom CC Classic, to the Cloud.  Most things went well, though terribly data, storage, and time demanding.  Then, after using a bit, I discovered that most (not all) of my videos lost their capture date, which was replaced with the Import Date.

I wrote and used an AutoIt script to automate the correction of the dates from the timestamp encoded into the filenames of those videos, so now they show up properly online and in Lightroom CC Desktop and Mobile.

However...Lightroom CC Classic loses all the corrected video capture dates on the way back down to classic!
I still need Classic for MANY functions that are not in CC/Mobile/Web (Publishing services, Mapping/Geo-tagging, Printing, and many facets of Exporting).  It appears that the Lightroom team(s) can't seem to understand or competently execute date/time functions...possibly the most important aspect for a professional image organizer to get correct!?

I've grown up from Photoshop Albums, PSE, and Lightroom 1.0 forward, and I'm seriously about to throw in the towel completely on Adobe as a whole!  How can things be so bad for so long and have no progress made toward fixing the terrible transition/partnership between Classic and Cloud?  Neither is sufficient, neither works well together...and they cut off perpetual licenses for people who would have been happy to stay with working software (at least working for them...oh yeah...except when they "drop" features like Mapping...unless you get our new subscription-only model).

Seriously, when will there be a single product line that does everything?  ...or at least a consistent, reliable partnership between product lines?  This is ridiculous!

Anyone have an alternative they have been happier with?

Hi Sam,

Can you please help us with some more info.
When you upload the video from non-classic client(CC/Mobile), the capture date is fine everywhere, but when you sync down to classic it goes missing, right?
Is it also the case that after syncing down to classic, other clients also loose the capture date?

To answer your questions first:

When you upload the video from non-classic client(CC/Mobile), the capture date is fine everywhere?
Yes, but uploading the videos directly to CC/Mobile isn't really the problem.  The problem is the 1,000 plus videos that I had in a Classic Catalog (Really, a LR6 Catalog that was converted to a Classic catalog to be imported into CC).  Those videos had metadata, proper Capture Dates, and tags that I used to organize and find them...before they were imported into CC.  Once imported into CC, the only date that existed was the Import Date...which was somehow used to overwrite the Capture Date).  Only after using Lightroom CC Desktop to manually fix every one of the 1,000 plus capture dates did they organize properly...and they do so across all Cloud-oriented clients (Web, Mobile, Desktop CC).
When you sync down to classic it goes missing, right?
Yes.  Every single fixed capture date (in Classic) is gone...only showing the Import Date as the Capture Date...which destroys all sense of organization.
after syncing down to classic, other clients also loose the capture date?
I don't think so...but I'm fearful of letting Classic sync my full catalog for fear that it will undo the time I spent fixing all the dates in LR Cloud in the first place.

I am very frustrated at being held hostage between two apps.  One won't store my originals in the cloud, and the other is so simplified that I can't function without the first...and neither seem to work together.

I really hope this gets resolved...ultimately by adding all the Export, Printing, Mapping, and Plug-in-ability of Classic into CC, so Classic is no longer necessary for those who want all their originals in the Cloud.
