Elements: Will Elements 3 work with MacOS 10.11 El Capitan?

I love Mac and Photoshop Elements. A low-end user, I still use P.E. v.3.0 but keep Mac OS updated. All has been fine until El Capitan.

I don't want to fuss with trying to make my old, old Elements work with OS 10.11.1 and don't mind purchasing Elements 14 but -- I wonder if I would easily be able to make the jump...usage-wise? Possibly I should stair-step up to 14 by purchasing/learning/using a lower version or two, or even three, before investing in the latest version? (Who knows what version it might be by the time I get there?)

Would like opinions AND need to know if earlier versions will even work with El Capitan? Looks like only yesterday's Mac update enabled 14 to operate!

Advance thanks for the information and your time.

Hi MapSkraps,

Elements 3 will not work with El Capitan. Elements 3 was designed to run on PowerPC processors which El Capitan does not support emulation for.

Version 14 was developed for and tested with El Capitan.
