Photoshop CS6: Vector shape thumbnail previews not displayed consitently

The display of the thumbnails for the vector shapes in CS6 is not consistent.
I created 4 rectangles. Some horizontal, some vertical, and with different aspect ratios.

1. When the aspect ratio is too elongated, the shape is displayed in a tiny thumbnail, this behavior makes it difficult to identify the layer quickly. I don't understand the reason for this.

2. If the shape is drawn horizontally, the thumbnail displays the shape vertically and vice versa.

See example:

This is a known problem with the thumbnail logic. The preference to limit the thumbnail to the non-blank part of the layer caused some problems, and the "shape layer" badge covers the thumbnail too often.

We're working on it.
