What isn't working, exactly?

Have you tried resetting Photoshop's preferences?

Thank you - yes, I reset the preferences. But the little pointer in the lower right of the chosen tool doesn't reveal the options for that tool.

That's odd. Are you clicking and holding or right clicking?
Is your system double click time set to zero somehow?

Thanks, I checked the click time and it's OK.

My computer is a mac. No right click on my mouse.; I click and hold. No options appear.

MacOS supports right click, and all the current mice shipping with Macintoshes also support right clicks.

The only other reason I've seen the additional tools fail to show was due to a mouse driver (logitech wireless mouse), though I think that Logitech fixed that bug a couple years ago.

Brilliant! I found out how to right click (control/click) and behold! The options re-appeared. Do you know why they disappeared in the first place?

I'm still not sure. Just left click and hold should work. And I haven't found a way to make it not work (I've been trying all sorts of mouse parameters and controls on MacOS).

Thank you Chris. Control click has solved the issue. I tried control click with my wireless mouse (not a magic one) and that worked. Then I checked with my usb mouse and control click worked with that one too.
